Deck setup:

1. Remove 10 exhibition cards, shuffle remaining
2. Draw 4 cards and place face up on board
3. Divide cards into 3 piles
4. Shuffle 5 small exhibition cards into 2nd stack
5. Shuffle 5 large exhibition cards into 3rd stack
6. Place first stack on second stack
7. Place third stack aside for now

• 2 player note: shuffle all exhibition cards into 2nd stack

Board setup:

• Researchers start in Warsaw
• Year marker starts on 1901 for 2 and 3 player games
• Year marker starts on 1902 with 4 players
• Place a value 1 artifact token on each excavation location

• Only 1 of the following 4 actions:
  • take researcher card
  • exchange the 4 cards displayed (in Warsaw only)
  • execute an excavation
  • execute an exhibition

• Highest score wins. Scoring from:
  • artifacts discovered
  • exhibitions
  • congress cards
  • most special knowledge in each area

• When all players have reached space 1 after year 1903
