Xia: Legends of a Drift System

  • 3-5 players

Setup

  • Shuffle sector tiles & deal 1 sector per player. It must have a spawn point or redraw.
  • Shuffle exploration tokens and put a token on any exploration spaces.
  • Shuffle mission cards & title cards.
  • Shuffle and deal 3 NPC cards to random players. (Not everyone will get one.)
  • Decide how many fame points to play to:
    • Roughly 3 minutes per fame point per player
  • Roll d20 to see who gets to choose a ship first
  • Each player gets:
    • 3,000 credits
    • Their ship, ship mat & ability card.
    • Impulse token and markers
    • All ships start with 100% energy & fully armed
    • Optionally buy outfits
  • Player who picked their ship last gets to start.

      • 1000c for tier 1 & 2, 2000c for tier 3
    • Buy/sell outfits
      • must not be damaged
    • Rearrange hold
      • damage can't be rearranged
    • Buy new ship
      • only 1 tier higher than current ship
      • keep any abilities from previous ship
      • remove bounty and damage
      • all outfits, cargo and credits are transferred
    • Buy fame

    • Arm markers (1 energy per marker unless on a planet)
  • Stranded - If a ship has no energy it can only move on Impulse and take Minor (M) actions.
  • Outlaw
    • ships cannot enter lawful planets via their entrances.
    • possibly gain 1000c bounty for crossing a planetary shield
    • gain 1000c bounty for destroying an innocent ship

Goal

  • Most number of fame points win.
  • Points from:
    • Exploration tokens: 0 to 1 points each.
    • Missions: 1 point for each completed mission.
    • Combat: points = destroyed ship's tier #.
    • Trade: 1 point for selling all cargo (minimum of 2 cargo).
    • Purchasing Ships: 1 point per new ship.
    • Wealth: buy 1 point for 5,000 credits. (not last point).
    • Kindness: 1 point for rescuing a stranded player.
    • Titles: 1, 2, or 3 points per title card.
    • Luck: 1 point for rolling a natural 20 on the d20.

Game End

  • When a player reaches the target fame points.
